Meet The Almarios

Miguel Almario, DPT

Miguel started his dance and movement journey in 2004, learning how to Breakdance from DVDs, VHS tapes, and eventually from other dancers in his local Maryland scene.

Ever the student, Miguel continues to pursue knowledge of history and cultural context of Hip-Hop, and street styles – Studying under educators such as Rashaad Hassani, Jade "Soul" Zuberi, David Castro, John Agesilas, Nedda Sou, JoJo Diggs, and Edson Guiu.

Earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at MGH Institute of Health Professions, Miguel has brought his passion for dance into the health and wellness space with the aim of improving dance performance and longevity.

Miguel believes that advocacy for the cultures that created these dances can deepen our understanding and enrich our experience with art forms and help inform the creation of equitable spaces.
